#8 limestone is clean, compactable crushed stone about the size of a dime. It's small enough to walk on without rolling your ankle and clean enough that water drains right through, which is a handy combination. That's why it lands in so many yard projects rather than under driveways.
Use it on walkways and garden paths, around downspouts and in splash areas, as topdressing across the yard, over a packed base for a clean look, and on dog runs.
