About mason sand
Mason sand, also called play sand, is fine, smooth, and uniform. That consistent grain is what makes it so useful: it mixes cleanly into mortar for laying brick and block, it sweeps down into the joints between pavers and packs them tight, and it spreads into a smooth, even cushion under an above-ground pool liner. The same sand fills a sandbox, and it's safe for that because there are no salts or shells in it.
If you only need one bag of sand for a small job, a hardware store works. But when you need it by the ton for a patio, a pool base, or a load of mortar, buying it in bulk here costs a lot less per pound. It's sold by the ton. If you're clearing out an old patio or pool area first, we rent roll-off dumpsters too.
